The stomach is a wonderful servant but a terrible master. That line stopped me three years ago and forced me to evaluate some spiritual and physical things in my life.

Here’s the test I use now. If I’m reaching for something for comfort, companionship, or counsel, it’s meeting a soul need. And that’s when it starts mastering me.

“I will not be mastered by anything.” 1 Corinthians 6:12
